Frequently Asked Questions

Here are frequently asked questions about MEDISAFE WITH Patch Insulin Pump

About its use

  • Select from the locations shown below with a flat area with sufficient skin tissue (fat) to attach the Infusion Set. We recommend that you use the front part of your body where you can check the attachment condition yourself and operate the device properly with both hands until you get used to applying/puncturing the Infusion Set and attaching/detaching the pump.

Be sure to rotate the application position to avoid skin problems.

The following sites should be avoided:

    • Within 5 cm around navel

    • Sites with wounds or calluses

    • Above the ilium (pelvic bone)

    • Locations overlaid by trouser belts or locations where the patch is more likely to peel due to rubbing against clothing

    • Locations where the skin surface is likely to bend or stretch often during the day, etc.

    • There may be individual differences in the distribution of subcutaneous fats depending, for example, on age and gender.

    • Consult your attending physician or nurse about the application area.

  • If you are concerned about the holder peeling off and getting detached during use, we recommend that you apply surgical tape to reinforce the adhesive tape.
Before attaching the Infusion Set, be sure to thoroughly wipe the entire attachment part with an alcohol swab and remove dirt or sebum. If dirt or sebum remains on the skin, the patch may peel off easily.

  • It does not contain isobornyl acrylate.

  • Since the insulin pump may be affected by magnetism, be sure to remove it as follows before undergoing examinations such as X-ray, MRI, and CT scan. (Infusion Set also needs to be removed from the body as it contains metal parts.)
